Well, if you live in the DMV area (D.C., Maryland, and Virginia) today definitely does not feel like the first official day of Spring. Why you may ask? Happy Hump Day folks!
Last night I got a much needed haircut – seriously, I looked at my calendar and realized my last haircut was almost a year and a half ago. Whoops. I didn’t do anything drastic, just a trim and some layering in the front. While my stylist said my hair wasn’t in too bad of condition, she made me promise to come back in May for a more regular visit. 🙂 I have been going (off and on) to the Bang Salon in the Verizon Center and have been pleased with all of my haircuts. Good morning folks!
Under my original workout plan for the week that I set on Sunday night I should be getting ready to head to Vida to run 3 miles or so, but instead I am sitting at my dining room table, sipping some coffee, and writing this blog post! I decided to listen to my body again. After getting home last night I was so tired and so sore from my barre class I took in the morning I decided to make today a “rest” day and make it up this coming Sunday. [Read more…]
I began today with a nice, soothing workout at the gym. I completed about 45 minutes on the recumbent bike while reading through an issue of TIME magazine. Workout #5 on weekday #5 completed!
I went to a Vinyasa class at Vida Metropole this morning and it felt so good after not being able to attend any yoga class at all for almost 3 weeks (or workout regularly for that matter) because of scheduling conflicts and sudden travel plans. While I am certainly not an uber-experienced “yogi” by any means, I do like to think I tend to have good balance and that I am pretty flexible. Today, my balancing skills were just jacked. I was very wobbly and had to keep putting my foot down to stabilize myself. The perfectionist in me didn’t like that one bit, but I kept reminding myself to breathe and just listen to my body.
