After our amazing time in Luang Prabang, we made our way to the capital of Laos, Vientiane. During French rule, Vientiane was the administrative capital and, due to economic growth in recent times, it has now become the economic center of Laos.

The Bee asked me to write this guest post last week and I hesitantly committed – I’m not a blogger, but I couldn’t refuse one of my besties… I agonized over what I could possibly say about Luang Prabang. I had total writer’s block, but a classmate of mine helped inspire me. I grabbed beers with classmates on Saturday when, somewhat fortuitously, the topic turned to travel. Someone asked me what my favorite place I’ve ever traveled to was. My answer was automatic. Laos. I didn’t even have to think about it – there was no hesitation or second guessing.
