Happy birthday to me! 🙂 I already feel so much birthday love and it’s 10am. Truly blessed to have amazing family, friends, and co-workers.
I decided today’s post would feature some pictures of my last year spent embarking into my 30s. It was a great year, with some trying and growing experiences to be sure (a few I have shared on Bee In DC and some I haven’t just because they are too raw). I have no doubt this year will be absolutely fabulous and challenging – which can be a good thing! [Read more…]
Here are some photos of Tommy’s birthday weekend.
Even though his birthday was on Sunday, Tommy decided he wanted to do most of the celebrating on Saturday (which ended up working out so well later on as the weekend progressed). [Read more…]
We made it to Friday!
Sorry I was MIA yesterday – we had a 2-day work retreat that ended today and yesterday was crazy and exhausting.
Let’s rewind back to Wednesday night. Coca Sala sure does a great happy hour, Chocolate and Bubbles happy hour to be exact. Coca Sala describes itself as a luxurious chocolate boutique lounge and restaurant. In addition to cocktails they also serve savory and (of course) sweet treats. Each item on the menu has something chocolate in it, whether it’s actually chocolate or a liquoer. [Read more…]
My good friend Tiffany is in town and Tommy and I were fortunate to be able to have a lovely dinner with Tiffany and her parents last night at a newish restaurant, Nopa Kitchen + Bar in Gallery Place. Not only were we catching up with amazing people, but we had a birthday to celebrate – Tiffany’s! [Read more…]
1) Tommy and I went to a wedding on Saturday night for our friends Nova and Shimon. It was a lovely ceremony, very informal and intimate. What I loved most about this wedding was a ritual of the “warming of the rings” that was done during the ceremony. Right at the beginning the pastor asked that each person in the audience take the wedding rings and cup them in our hands to warm them and say a prayer or blessing for the couple. I had never heard or done this before and I really liked it. [Read more…]
Katie and I began our Saturday running a couple of errands for another friend of mine who was also celebrating his 30th birthday that day, a BBQ at his house! She had beer to buy and I had part of his present to purchase. Our errand spree ended with us each being able to get a free, delicious omelette made for us for breakfast! (I had forgotten that my condo’s monthly free breakfast had been that morning. We were able to sneak in at the very, very, very end of the breakfast. 🙂 They both were delicious. [Read more…]
1) The celebration continues! Several super awesome friends of mine who weren’t able to make Saturday night’s festivities (blog post on that tomorrow) treated me out to a belated birthday dinner at Graffiato last night. It was when I was coming up the escalator from the metro home that I realized I hadn’t taken any pictures. Super fail. The meal highlights were definitely the White House pizza and the Amish Chicken Thighs. [Read more…]
Happy Monday everyone! Hope everyone’s week is off to a wonderful start. 🙂 Mine is, just a little tired, but nothing an afternoon cup of coffee can’t fix!
This weekend was affectionately called my birthday extension weekend. Since my actual birthday happened on a week day last week, we decided to save the serious “I’ve just turned 30 partying” for the weekend. 🙂 [Read more…]
This past weekend was, oh, so much fun! As a birthday surprise I flew to Dallas so I could partake in the big 3-0 birthday festivities for my dear, dear friend Katie. There has been a lot of celebrating this specific number birthday as you’ll remember I flew out to L.A. last December to celebrate my friend Sarah turning 30. [Read more…]
