1) Prayers for Boston. I cannot believe we are dealing with another senseless tragedy. I watched a lot of TV coverage last night and this morning. I couldn’t help it. On the brighter side of things there were many heroes that stepped up in the face of crisis and sadness. [Read more…]
I finally went here!
My friend Jessica and I met up for brunch at this locale before heading across the street to Nats ballpark to watch them take on the Atlanta Braves on Sunday. Sadly, the Nationals did not win. However if it’s any constellation, Jessica and I had a lovely brunch. 🙂 Oh and Jessica’s team did win. [Read more…]
Today’s post is going to be a smattering of different things. I guess it shows where my head is currently!
I begin with yesterday’s promise of getting back to you about my first GW Alumni Community Outreach and Service Committee meeting. Three other girls and I met at Vapiano, a restaurant that serves pasta, pizza, and salad (as well as having a pretty sweet happy hour), and we managed to have a very productive meeting over glasses of wine, pasta, amidst sports fans and happy hour goers. So the planning one event for the semester? Not really a thing. The President of the Committee told us she hoped we could host/coordinate an event once a month for alumni. Another girl and I cautioned with managing expectations. As it stands we plan on hosting our first event in early May, a happy hour, and then following up with a more service-specific event in either June or July. I’m looking forward to working with this group of people and hope that are events start to become widely attended. We are definitely in the very early stages of developing this alumni association group. Bring it on! [Read more…]
As you all know I like doing community service projects and I tend to never say no to anything or anyone, so when I was asked if I wanted to join the GW (The George Washington) Alumni’s Community Outreach and Service Committee, I thought why the heck not? My friend Nova was also going to be on the committee and I was promised it wouldn’t consume too much of my time. We shall see 😉 [Read more…]
I got back from a work trip to New York City earlier this afternoon. I had taken the train up to the city on Tuesday morning, stayed the night over, and then headed back to D.C. on another train earlier today. As usual the trip was nonstop busy, which is always great, but exhausting. [Read more…]
1. Tommy and I had the extreme pleasure and honor of meeting this little one born on Saturday, only a day later on Sunday! [Read more…]
Anyone else can’t believe it’s Friday already? This week has FLOWN by. Work has been crazy and the days and nights just seemed to roll right into each other. It’s definitely a good thing. It’ll be nice to catch my breath a little over the weekend – though I do have some super fun plans you will no doubt be hearing about later on. 🙂
Tommy and I are going to a friend’s wedding in Annapolis, Maryland in mid-May. We have been to Annapolis once before, for a day trip, and loved it. To capitalize on us already being out there for the wedding, we have decided to make the trip a mini-vacation. [Read more…]
It was a chilly game folks, but a super fun one filled with great baseball watching companions, a $1 hot dog and nachos, and a Nats win!
The Nationals so far have won both of the two games they have played and both games have been shut-outs. Off to a pretty great start if you ask me! The highlight last night? Gio Gonzalez, one of our star pitchers, got a home run! Other observations: Ian Desmond decided to grow a “stache” and Jason Werth’s beard for his official Nationals picture is CRAZY. [Read more…]
I will be honest, I am not sure what brought this on or where it came from, but last night as we were getting ready for bed I told Tommy I wanted to install a monthly date night plan for us. Nothing fancy or over complicated. [Read more…]
