On Saturday afternoon two of my neighbors and I attended the first Drink the District at Yards Park, a huge wine festival. Apparently the first one was such a huge success there are promises for more later this spring and summer turning the festival into a series! [Read more…]
It was a chilly game folks, but a super fun one filled with great baseball watching companions, a $1 hot dog and nachos, and a Nats win!
The Nationals so far have won both of the two games they have played and both games have been shut-outs. Off to a pretty great start if you ask me! The highlight last night? Gio Gonzalez, one of our star pitchers, got a home run! Other observations: Ian Desmond decided to grow a “stache” and Jason Werth’s beard for his official Nationals picture is CRAZY. [Read more…]
I will be honest, I am not sure what brought this on or where it came from, but last night as we were getting ready for bed I told Tommy I wanted to install a monthly date night plan for us. Nothing fancy or over complicated. [Read more…]

As you know Cairo, Egypt holds a special place in my family’s heart. Despite the chaos that is currently going on over there right now, we all look back on our time in Cairo fondly and lovingly. Whenever we get the chance to sort of re-live our experience there, we do.

I thought the woman who played the main character, Margie, was phenomenal. Lara and I both would definitely recommend seeing this.
2. I had been wanting to try Spring Mill Bread Co. on 8th Street/Barracks Row ever since my friend Max told me he bought a loaf of bread there specifically to make french toast one weekend morning and it was superb. I got my chance on Saturday because I was meeting a friend for coffee so I bought of loaf of their Cinnamon Swirl bread. I made french toast the very next morning after my 6 mile run and it was divine! [Read more…]
I had to meet someone for coffee earlier today. I wanted to try and stay away from a typical Starbucks or Caribou Coffee, so I did a little research to see if there were any nice, clean, independent coffee shops near Gallery Place/Chinatown (where we had settled on meeting a day earlier). [Read more…]
Tommy surprised me with two tickets to see Tap Dogs at Strathmore Music Center in North Bethesda on Saturday night. I was excited for two reasons: I had never heard of Tap Dogs before and was looking forward to seeing the show and because I had never been to Strathmore before. As you know, I love going to new places! [Read more…]
