Hi ya’ll! It’s certainly been awhile hasn’t it? It’s been a little busy I must say with Honey & Lavender, kids, husband, COVID, the election, and life. While I absolutely missed popping on here several times a week, I had to take a deep breath in September and figure out what I absolutely had to do and what I could step away from for a bit so I wouldn’t stress or overwhelm myself.
During this time while I was busy doing all the things you do when you own a business and are trying to lay the foundation for its success for years to come, I came to a bittersweet realization.
After 8 years and one month of beginning this blog back in October 2012, it’s time to make a major shift from this blog, a labor of love of mine, to another labor of love – my growing business.

As I wrote waaaay back in 2012, I initially began this blog because I wanted to write again, to have a creative outlet, outside of my job in politics at the time. From that hobby began a years long journey of documenting literally everything I did, experienced, had, met, accomplished, created. It’s really awesome to look back at the earlier years of this blog to see what was important to me at the time, what challenges and triumphs I was experiencing. It’s my time capsule in many ways. I can’t tell you how often someone will say, where did we eat in 2014 in Vegas or what was the name of the wine bar we didn’t like at all. And my response is always “let me check the blog”! I have met so many people through this blog, have been invited to experience many different events, fitness classes, restaurants, products, and companies, and more. It’s truly been a core piece of who I am.
While I am stepping away from writing on Bee in DC, I will still be blogging – just over at Honey & Lavender’s blog! It dawned on me that I could have the best of both worlds. I could take a lot of the lifestyle blogging I have done with Bee in DC and bring some of that into my blogging about working events, large and small.

It’s not the same, but I think it will be even better.
So for my loyal readers since day one, readers that have joined recently, and readers that fit somewhere in the middle, I hope you’ll join me on my next big adventure!
Fondly,
Maya
