Happy Monday ya’ll! I hope you had a great weekend. Yours truly is still basking in all of the love and light I received on Friday (my birthday) and throughout the weekend. Truly, it was a wonderful birthday – with AMAZING weather- and I am so thankful for everyone in my life – especially during these trying and uncertain times.
Here are some photos from my special day (and weekend) if you would like to see!
A couple of people in our neighborhood started “flocking for good” – leaving flamingo surprises for birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and even “just because” during the time of COVID-19. 20% of the overall flocking cost goes to a food bank and then to a college fund.
On the way home we picked up another beautiful flower arrangement from Bloom Fresh Flowers.
Later on we had cake that was perfection from The Happy Tart.
The next day was a beach day at Terrapin Beach Park! We timed it that we were arriving at the beach at 9:30am on Saturday. Our thinking was there wouldn’t be too many folks at the beach that early so we could safely social distance for a couple of hours and by the time we were leaving we would be bypassing all the foot traffic coming to the beach. We were spot on in our assumption.
We stopped at Hemingway’s Restaurant for lunch not too far from the beach and were so glad we did. So many great views and the food we ordered was delicious!
Later that night after the kiddos were tucked in bed, Tommy and I did something we haven’t done in awhile – we went out on a double date in DC with our friends Michelle and Brad (same friends that flocked our house)!
On Sunday we had plans to go cherry-picking, but after finding out the accommodations at the particular farm weren’t that conducive to two little kiddos, we chose to stay close to home.
The kids had a nice surprise – playgrounds are open now! We ended our Sunday with doing our thing in Old Town after nap/quiet time. (Scooters, playing on the astroturf by the water, and getting smoothies at South Block.)
A great weekend for the books!
