On Sunday night our little family + Ava’s friend Addie and her parents, Kathryn and Matt, checked out Enchant Christmas at Nationals Park. The main attraction at Enchant is The Light Maze. Visitors are set out on a mission to find all of Santa’s reindeer amidst glittering and twinkling lights, sculptures, and more. There is also a Christmas market on the upper level of the baseball stadium, ice-skating, a Kids Zone, a Ms. Claus and Santa Claus dedicated visiting area, and plenty of food and beverage options.
We wasted no time getting in line to go down into the Maze, which was on the actual Nationals baseball field. I snapped this picture as we made our way down to the field.
Then the fun began – the girls (and adults) loved running and walking through the maze.
About 45 minutes into our Maze fun, Tommy and Luke peeled off to head back home for Luke’s bedtime, but Kathryn, Matt, the girls, and I hung around to keep trying to find all the reindeer (we found every single reindeer except Cupid), grab holiday beverages, and go ice-skating.
We were even fortunate enough to visit with Ms. Claus and wave “hi” to Santa before heading to Mission for dinner!
The verdict of Enchanted was a good review from this crew. While not cheap, I found the price tag to be pretty worth it honestly. I liked the concept of a holiday maze to get visitors to run around and explore, the lights and installations were very impressive – even for adults. It’s to be expected that food and other activities (ice-skating) will be up-charged, but that comes with the territory. I also found the shops and kiosks featured at Enchanted to be interesting and good quality.
I did think crowd and line control getting to the maze could have been better, but it didn’t ruin the evening by any means.
If you are looking for a unique holiday activity to do, no matter the age – definitely check this out. Side note: I actually thought this also would have made a great date night, sans kids. Strolling through the maze, alcoholic beverage in hand….:-)
