Hi Friends! I thought it would be pretty apropos to share a photo recap of our Thanksgiving trip to Portland, Maine for this month’s “Things That Make Me Happy”.
It was wonderful seeing my in-laws and Ava and Luke had a complete ball. Of course it was a bittersweet Thanksgiving as it was the first since Grammy passed away, but it was lovely that we were all able to be together for the holiday.
We stayed at Tommy’s younger sister, Danielle, and her husband, Erik’s, new house near Kennebunkport. Luke was enthralled and intrigued with this fella.
On Thanksgiving morning our little crew joined Aunt Danielley (her nickname) to feed her horse Crystal at the stables. Little Miss got to ride her too!
I was proactive and thought to get a family photo before all the Thanksgiving hoopla began.
Pretty soon it was time to eat!
Ava and Auntie Christy were in charge of coordinating the yummy desserts!
Auntie Danielley and Uncle Erik asked if Ava would help them pick out a tree the next day. Of course she obliged! We went to Holmes Tree Farm. Danielle and Erik had high hopes to cut their own tree this year, but we couldn’t find a suitable tree to take home. 🙁
Little Man loved being able to walk/run/roam around the farm for a bit.
We scored and picked out a gorgeous real wreath to bring home with us in the car to proudly display on our front door.
Not pictured was our fun afternoon in Kennebunkport eating a delicious dinner and walking around a bit.
While I could have done without the insane holiday traffic we encountered both ways going and coming back, it was truly a blessing to be able to spend time with our extended family.
