The date was November 25, 2013 when Tammy and I officially launched our 14th Street Eating Tour.
The month prior we had dinner at Cork, which is unfortunately no longer around, musing how many great restaurants were popping up on the 14th Street Corridor. Lighting struck and we decided to make a commitment to eat at a new (to us) restaurant on 14th Street every month. We decided to add our friend Miki to this dining group and this series on Bee in DC was born.
6 years later we added another addition to the dining group, Christina, and have witnessed each other’s weddings, kiddos, new jobs, and moves to other cities. Through the years and all these changes, this little dining group has still kept its commitment to these dinners, which is pretty incredible.
We lost Miki to Denver in June 2016 and now my founding partner-in-crime has decided to move back to LA with her sweet family. I’ll share what I posted last week on FB right after our last dinner and Tammy’s last night in DC.
It’s the end of an era, that is for sure. Christina – we must continue this tradition as the last two standing!
