Well, we made it to Thursday guys! Hope your week has been treating you well. I feel like this week flew by. It’s hard to believe that our Labor Day weekend trip to Omaha, Nebraska for our dear friend Meg’s wedding was almost three weeks ago!
To be honest, Tommy nor I weren’t quite sure what to expect Omaha to be like, but I think it’s safe to say what we were able to see of the city, we were pretty impressed!
Our kiddos are expert travelers now!

Once we touched down in Omaha around lunch time on Friday, we were ready to eat some lunch! We took Meg and her fiance Kevin’s suggestion and tried Stokes Grill & Bar, which happened to be within walking distance to our hotel (unbeknownst to us at the time)!

After lunch we checked into our hotel and tried to get Ava and Luke to nap before we had rehearsal dinner fun to attend later that evening. I was successful getting Luke to nap in his stroller – we explored downtown Old Market! – daddy was not with Ava, lol.

A couple hours later, our family of four found ourselves at the Durham Museum for Meg and Kevin’s rehearsal dinner!

Of course it was wonderful seeing Meg and Kevin as it had been awhile since we had seen either of them. It was also nice to see Meg’s parents, her sisters, and all of Meg’s friends I had met throughout the years of knowing her since we met in DC in 2007!

We ended up having to leave the dinner early because the kiddos were SO tired, but #parentlife!
The next morning Tommy hit a local CrossFit class, while I watched the kiddos. Then we alternated, Tommy watched them while I attended a Bridesmaids Luncheon at a family friend’s home.

After we coaxed Ava and Luke out of the pool, I ran across the street to Nosh to grab lunch for Tommy and the kids. After they ate and we all glammed up, it was time to head to the wedding ceremony!

After the ceremony, guests had a couple of hours to kill before the reception began. We took the opportunity to walk around downtown again, as Tommy and Ava hadn’t really had a chance to explore.

We also popped into a cute grocery store to buy some essentials and then stopped by Jams to pick up dinner for Tommy and the kids. (Tommy generously offered to stay behind at the hotel with the kids, while I attended the reception).

While Tommy took care of the home front, I ate and danced my way into the night with Meg and company. It was so much fun and I am so happy for my sweet friend and her new hubby!

The next morning we headed to Meg’s parents house for a post-wedding brunch before heading back home.

It was a whirlwind of a trip, but we had a blast. I am so glad I finally made it to Omaha to see where Meg grew up and where she will now reside with Kevin! One more place to check off this list!
