Happy Wednesday friends – though doesn’t it kind of feel like a Friday?! Hope you all have some fun Fourth of July plans tomorrow. My family and I will be pooling and BBQ-ing it up at our friend Allison and George’s house and we cannot wait!
A really cool work opportunity dropped in my lap last month that sent me to the LA area last week. In addition to attending a really inspiring and awesome workshop put on by the Billions Institute, I was able to see my friend Sarah (again!) and one of my cousins, Lani.
Here are some photos, if you would like to see!
The workshop was held on the Cal Poly Pomona campus. We also were lodged here to keep logistics simple so we got to see a fair amount of the campus via foot and car. The campus was a lot prettier than I thought it would be.
Speaking of the learn- by- doing philosophy, workshop attendees were treated to a welcome happy hour at a brewery, Innovation Brew Works. IBW serves as a learn-by-doing brewery laboratory for Cal Poly Pomona students, alumni, faculty and the general public. Students acquire hands-on experience with brewing and brewpub operations at the brewery. Such a wonderful idea!
My awesome co-workers that I attended the workshop with. Loved spending time with them brainstorming, strategizing, and team building.
I was so glad I was able to squeeze in some friend and family time before heading back home.
Sarah and I met up at Craft Hill for wine on Thursday night.
And my cousin Lani and I were able to catch up over yummy treats at Porto’s Bakery & Cafe before I flew home last Friday.
A great, productive, exhausting, and eye-opening trip for sure!
