Hello and Happy Monday! I hope all the Mamas and Mama-Figures had a wonderful Mother’s Day yesterday. Mine was pretty great, except that it rained pretty much all day yesterday. But as I told Tommy, we had been blessed with picture-perfect weather the last two Mother’s Day weekends, so I guess rain one year was imminent. We made the best of it though!
We kicked off our morning with swimming lessons for both kiddos. It was a regular Sunday swim class for Ava, but it was Luke’s very first Daddy and Me Class!

Ava really is the sweetest big sister. I thought she would enjoy watching Luke’s lesson through the special glass wall that separates parents from the actual pool for about 10 minutes before asking if we could go to the toy section their swim school has. But she sat with me for the entire 30 minutes, genuinely interested in how Luke was doing.

Then it was Ava’s turn for swim class, while Luke watched on. True to form, she had a blast in the water and did fantastic. Tommy and I do wonder if swimming will be her sport.

After Ava’s swim class was over, our original plan was to head home and get changed for Mother’s Day Lunch at a favorite neighborhood restaurant of ours, Hank’s Pasta Bar, but I quickly decided to change those plans given the rain and the inconvenience it came with lugging two kids in and out of the house several times, trying to find parking for lunch, etc. We did the next best thing – we ordered our food from the restaurant and enjoyed lunch at home dry and in our pajamas!

parmesan, cream, ground black pepper
After lunch, Tommy let me nap for 1.5 hours while Luke napped for about 45 minutes and Ava did “quiet time” in her room. (This was probably the best present ever!)
After we fed Luke, we headed out for another big Luke first – his first haircut! Things were looking pretty good until the very end…

After the big haircut, we headed to Target or “the special market Target” as Ava calls it for some groceries, odds and ends, and for Ava to spend some of her birthday money.

Hope you all have a great start to your week!
