Last Saturday evening Tommy and I had a great double date with our friends Kathryn and Matt. Both of our daughters, Ava and Addie, now go to the same preschool and their preschool offers a monthly “Parents Night Out”. For $30 (per kid), you can drop your kiddo off at the preschool on the chosen Saturday from 4:30pm – 8:30pm and be assured that they will get fed and be taken care of for those said hours. It’s a dream!
So with Ava care taken care of, we asked our trusty and amazing nanny, Wendy, if she would watch Luke during these hours so we could enjoy some “adults only” time. It turned out to be just what all the adults needed!
We began our double date with an early dinner at Chloe at Yards Park. Chloe’s menu showcases Chef Haidar Karoum’s personal culinary journey beginning in Lebanon and his extensive travel through Western Europe and Southeast Asia. A lot of Chloe’s seasonal produce and ingredients come from the Mid-Atlantic which is a great nod to the locals. Tommy and I had been here once before, but this was Kathryn and Matt’s first time.

And then onto the menu to decide what we all wanted to order. Ultimately, we decided to each order two plates to share with everyone to start. (Chloe recommends this as well). We ended up ordering a few more dishes too. 🙂

Here are some of the dishes that we ordered.

One thing that we ordered that I wasn’t able to get a great photo of was the Crispy Cauliflower and that was to die for. We all loved this dish.
As was the same with our first visit to this restaurant, this time the food didn’t disappoint and it was wonderful to enjoy a leisurely, tasty meal without having to feed our kiddos or make sure they were happy and behaving.

After we paid our bill, we walked across the street to Blue Jacket to order a round of beers before calling it a night. Bonus points? I found a beer that I liked (I am hardly what you would call a beer person) – Kelsey and Greg’s Wedding Ale – sour blond ale with peaches. So yummy!

Thanks for a great night Kathryn and Matt!
