Happy Friday ya’ll!
Last Saturday I hosted a fun Galentine’s gathering at my house. While I am so blessed and fortunate to have my main Valentine (Tommy) and my mini Valentines (Ava and Luke), I always loved seeing all the TLC girlfriends were giving and showing each other in various ways on Valentine’s Day every year. As someone who also deeply cherishes her female friendships, I felt like this “holiday” was meant for me and I’ve been wanting to throw a Galentine’s Day something for awhile now. Well, I finally did it this year!
I decided to do my little soiree on a Saturday afternoon (4-6pm) and the main items on the menu would be cake and champagne. Because as the invite said “why the hell not”?
I bought a cake from The Happy Tart and it was another home run. (P.S. I know I’m joining the many in being so disappointed that The Happy Tart decided to close its Del Ray location. Luckily the cake was worth the drive to Falls Church!)
I also made these two dips for people to enjoy with crackers and chips – Super Simple Shrimp Dip and Slow Cooker Spinach and Artichoke Dip. A neighbor also brought a delicious veggie plate, another friend brought a cake she made, and I had some on-theme candy and cookies available throughout the house.
I bought several beautiful flower arrangements from Trader Joe’s and my few, but impactful decorations came from good ole Target.
For party favors, I gave out mini mounted plants from Rock Paper Plant, a fabulous duo that helps people explore their creative side and beautify their home with plants or things that look like plants. Check them out!
And they packaged them up for me, how sweet!
Hanging with the gals!
Thanks to everyone who came – I had so much fun planning this little get together!
