Happy Friday everyone! I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely ready for the weekend, especially after the day we had yesterday. Late-afternoon I got a call from our dog-walker saying Violet had been hit by a car. Of course my heart literally stopped beating and I was imagining the worst. Fast forward and Violet is going to be just fine. She definitely has some cuts and soreness to recuperate from, but the hit wasn’t super impactful, fortunately.
Last Sunday, our little family partook in a Veteran’s Day 2-Mile Walk! I am proud to say the logistics of getting our family of four to the race on time – with nursing Luke at home first, waking up Ava early, getting everyone dressed for the chilly weather, packing all that we needed, and piling into an Uber – was a major success! Here are some photos if you’d like to see!
Ava wanted to wear my race bib. She was a champ braving the chilly weather in the stroller. Lucky for her she was bundled up and munched on all the snacks her mama packed along. Baby brother Luke was also all bundled up and slept from the minute our Uber picked us up at our house until the end of the race!
Queuing up for the race. We’re ready!
Our walking route was definitely picturesque. It began at West Potomac Park and looped around the tidal basin before ending back at the starting line.
We did have to end the walk a wee bit earlier as a 3.5 year-old who shall remain nameless got a little too cold and antsy to finish the race. 🙂 Nonetheless it was great to get outside and do something active with the entire family for a couple of hours!
Hope you all have a great weekend.
