Happy Monday folks! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Our weekend was spent officially on “Baby Watch”, but we still managed to have a pretty productive weekend. Our weekend included dinner out on Friday night with some neighbors, a prenatal yoga class on Saturday, a birthday party for one of Ava’s friends on Saturday night, swimming lessons on Sunday morning, and a Hibachi lunch on Sunday. (Hey Ava and Luke were craving it!) It was a very busy wedding-wise too in our world. Tommy’s older brother, Danny, got married to his longtime girlfriend Alison on Saturday in Maine and my good friend from college, Mandy, married her college sweetheart, Tust, in Napa on Sunday. We were at both weddings in love and spirit!
Another errand we ran on Saturday afternoon was a grocery run to Earth Fare, the newest health and wellness supermarket in Fairfax, Virginia (about 20 minutes or so from our house). I was introduced to Earth Fare earlier this year and was very impressed with all of the natural and organic products they offer customers. The day’s mission? Stock up on some healthy items for all members of our family to enjoy now and post-Luke’s arrival.
Tommy has been an RXBar fan for awhile and has turned Ava into a fan of the bars too. While I have yet to try one, Tommy suggested grabbing a box of the Blueberry ones for me to munch on when I am breastfeeding Luke in the coming weeks and months. I noticed that RXBar has a kids version of the bars, so I grabbed a couple of boxes for Ava to snack on as well.
Other convenient snacks for the breastfeeding mama or supportive hubs or Ava included dried fruit snacks, beef jerky (Tommy) and kale chips.
Ever since I was pregnant with Ava, my sweet tooth has come out in full force, so I picked up this ice cream to try when a sweet-craving comes. (Prior to Ava, I never craved anything sweet – just savory).
Our entire family are huge fans of “blubs” (blueberries) and avocados – usually in the form of Avocado Toast for breakfast or homemade guacamole for dinner or a snack – so we made sure to grab plenty of each.
Ava is in a lollipop phase right and when I spotted these organic lollipops at the cash register, I couldn’t resist buying a few to keep in my purse for safe-keeping.
Tommy is a huge fan of Kombucha, so he made sure to stock up on some of his favorite Synergy flavors.
It makes me so happy to know that my pantry and fridge are both stocked with healthy and nutritious food for my entire family to enjoy in the next few weeks. Definitely helps taking one thing off my list of things to worry about or complete!
Thanks Earth Fare. 🙂
