Happy Monday everyone! Hope you had a fun and restful one. I wouldn’t say mine was restful per se, as I was coming off a 3-day work retreat on Friday afternoon and was on single parent duty for the weekend since Tommy made a quick trip to Portland, Maine for his youngest sister’s surprise birthday party. Now we have a houseful of guests this week (my dad, his wife, their son, and Tommy’s oldest sister, Christy, for a couple of days). Loving it – summer is definitely in full swing!
Two weekends ago, Luke (and I) were given the sweetest and most beautiful baby shower by four of my dearest friends – Christina, Arlene, Allison, and Tiffany – at my house. It met a lot to me that people flew in for the shower, took time from their busy schedules to attend the shower and brought and sent thoughtful gifts, and thought of the most elaborate menu (shout out to Christina) and decorations (shout out to Arlene) to make the shower just perfect.
Here are some photos if you’d like to see:
The theme of the shower was “nautical” as homage to Tommy’s Maine roots.
- Mixed blueberry and raspberry fruit cups
- Lobster Dip and Crackers
- Seafood Pasta – shoutout to Allison!
- Mini Cucumber Sandwiches
- Mixed Salad
- Blueberry Muffins
- Homemade Blueberry Pie
The food was so, so, so good.
My friend Tammy made small Whoopi Pies as favors for the shower guests.
Baby Activity and Game:
Guests decorated onesies of all sizes for Luke. I was blown away by all the artistry and creativity!
For the games, we asked each guest to bring a baby picture to the shower so people could guess which baby picture was who and then we also played “Guess the Nursery Rhyme” since I loved doing it at Christina’s shower the weekend before.

Thank you wonderful friends and family for making Luke and I feel so much love. I’d be remiss to mention that obviously a large piece was missing, my mom’s physical presence at the shower, but I know she was celebrating alongside all of us.
The world can’t wait to meet you Baby Luke!
