We were fortunate to have been invited to stay with family friends at their beach house in Frisco, North Carolina, located at the southern end of Hatteras Island, and part of the Outer Banks, over Labor Day Weekend. Special shout-out to Ava since this friendship began with her befriending this couple’s adorable 2-year-old son, William.
It was a glorious 3-day trip from reality allowing my little family to recharge and relax a bit. (BIG thanks to the people that took care of my mom while I was away and others that baby-sat Violet. This trip definitely wouldn’t have happened without these extremely important pieces).
Here are some photos if you’d like to see:
Our days took a familiar pattern: eat breakfast, go to the beach, have a snack, pool time, nap (maybe), more play time while snacking, and then dinner.
On our first night we ate dinner at Hatteras Sol Waterside Grill. Williams parents, Brad and Michelle, hadn’t eaten here before and were curious and I was itching to eat any kind of seafood, so it all worked out! While the ambiance of the restaurant was cool, the food was just so-so. (I ordered their seafood pasta). They were also clearly short staffed as service was bit slow. However we made do!
Dare I say it, but I think Ava enjoyed the pool more than the ocean.
Beach life is hard guys.
A beautiful sunset on our last night at the beach. We finished eating dinner at the Sandbar & Grille just as the sun was setting. Side note: I loved my meal here – I ordered the clam linguine and side Caesar salad. Ava apparently loved it too, as she ate more than half my meal! I was digging the definite kid-friendly vibe here and the glorious outside deck to enjoy drinks, laughter, sunsets, and photos to boot.
Of course we had to take some family and friend photos too!
Thanks for an amazing beach weekend Mr. Brad, Ms. Michelle, and William!
