Things on my mind lately…
Disclaimer 1 & 2 are timely since I have spent a lot of time at Georgetown University Hospital in the last week. Mom’s cancer took a downturn…we aren’t out of the woods just yet, but have received some hopeful signs.
- Things you must bring with you to an ER (especially if you are accompanying the patient) – jacket, cardigan, or sweater in case it’s FREEZING (and it usually is), something to read, and a phone charger. For some reason, despite the number of times I was at the hospital (6), I kept forgetting to stash my phone charger in my bag – and ultimately regretted it. Luckily I had other patients in the ER and the nurse station “help a gal out”.
- Considering how often Tommy and/or I spent driving through Georgetown on the way to the hospital this past week, we realized how Georgetown is basically a straight shot from our house. So we decided we are going to start hanging out in Georgetown more. (We used to hang out in Georgetown a lot several years ago, but then got swayed to other parts of the city). Last Saturday, we met an old friend from our Cairo days at Paolo’s.
- Check out what I bought at the Lily After Party yesterday.
- Thanks to our friend Christina who offered us an impromptu night of baby-sitting last Wednesday to “escape reality”, Tommy and I checked out a relatively new restaurant,,Hummingbird, in Hotel Indigo in Old Town Alexandria. I think this restaurant may become one of our “go-tos”.
- My girl. My heart.
Have a great day.
