Hello! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend and Father’s Day celebrating the special men in your life, whether it be fathers, father-figures, husbands, and/or brothers.
I think it’s a safe assumption to say that Tommy had a pretty good Father’s Day. 🙂
It began with an unusual early wake-up (6am) from Little Miss. Tommy was kind enough to take Ava duty for the next couple hours, allowing me to catch some more zzzzs since I had a quasi-late night grabbing dinner and drinks with some girlfriends at Chaplin’s Restaurant on Saturday night.
My mom and I met Ava and Tommy at the park to relieve Tommy so he could go on a long run. He wanted to work up an appetite for brunch at Texas de Brazil in D.C.!
Not only did Tommy enjoy the all-you-can-eat salad bar and selection of Brazilian meats brought to the table, but Ava had her fair share of a variety of meats as well! She especially loved seeing the different meats arrive to our table on a large skewer as seen above. (While Tommy ordered all the meat he wanted, Mom and I decided to just partake in the salad bar option – no meat- which was totally fine as there were plenty of salads, pastas, sushi, and seafood options to choose from. Ava ate free and off all of our plates!) If you choose to eat from just the salad bar, it’s $10 cheaper than the the salad bar + meat option. Go here for pricing information.
This was our first time eating at this Texas de Brazil location and we were very impressed with the space, the service, and quality of food. Whenever we (Tommy) are in the “all-you-can-eat-meat” mood, Fogo de Chao is generally our go-to. However, the last few times we have been were sub-par, so I think we found our meat-lovers alternative!
If brunch wasn’t enough food for the day, we also hosted a small “pool party (for the kiddos) and BBQ” for some neighbors in the afternoon.

I wasn’t able to take too many photos during the BBQ since I wanted Tommy to be able to enjoy himself and sit back and relax for the most part, but trust me – everyone had a great time!
