Happy Friday folks!!! I hope you have some fun plans on the books for the weekend. We have a couple of picnic gatherings with friends planned (the family) and a baby shower (me) included in our agenda.
I wanted to share our Memorial Day weekend Atlanta trip in pictures. If you’d like to see, please scroll down!
Someone is finally big enough (well, by airline standards) to have her very own seat on the airplane!
Since mom, Ava, and I were staying at the same place we did for Thanksgiving (at a generous family friend’s loft in Cabbagetown), we decided to explore the area around his loft a bit more than we had a chance to in November.
We ended up going to Carroll Street Cafe twice (for breakfast on Sunday and Monday). The street behind his loft has several restaurants and bars to choose from.
I would describe Carroll Street Cafe as a hip, welcoming, and quaint bistro. I remarked if I lived in the neighborhood, you would find me here with my laptop all the time. The food was pretty good too.
The “main” event of the weekend was a birthday party for my two nephews, Gabe and Liam. Their birthdays are only a day apart – Liam’s on May 26th and Gabe’s on May 27th – so they had a joint Super Heroes birthday party on Sunday afternoon at their apartment.
Liam (and his parents!) celebrated the BIG O-N-E, while Gabe turned 4.
There was plenty of food and drinks to enjoy during the party and lots of kids running around and playing with each other. All the ingredients for a good birthday party. 🙂
Ava also found a couple other ways to entertain herself at times…
Enjoying some of mama’s green juice I bought at Krog Street Market later after the party.
We were able to enjoy breakfast with my brother Marshall before we headed to the airport to fly back to D.C. on Monday.
Marshall goofing around.
Another special thing we did this weekend was get professional photos taken of mom, her kids, and all her grandkids at a local mall. Here are a couple from the shoot:
It was a good weekend seeing my brother and his beautiful family. Wish we could seem them more!
What did you do for Memorial Day weekend?
