Our family + a few friends had a pretty adventurous little Sunday. After scoping out a new church that our friends Jessica and Stephen attend, Tommy, Ava, my mom, and I loaded up the car and headed to Baltimore. We were joining Ava’s sweet friend William and his parents for a “Day Out With Thomas” at the B&O Railroad Museum!
Since Thomas and Friends has quickly become Ava’s second favorite show after Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (in large part to her daddy), when I came across this event on Facebook I immediately looked into it, thinking it would be a fun experience for Ava. And since one of Ava’s neighborhood friends, William, ADORES trains himself I told his parents about it and they promptly bought tickets to join us.
Our “day out with Thomas” included a 25-minute train ride behind the Thomas the Train Tank Engine, all day admission to the B&O Railroad Museum, live entertainment, photo opportunities with Sir Topham Hatt, carnival games, interactive exhibits, and a moon bounce.
As you’ll see, Little Miss was NOT impressed with Sir Topham Hatt…
And meeting him…
Fortunately, Ava loved seeing Thomas up close and personal and riding on the train. I keep telling Tommy we just need to take her on the metro every few days to keep being “the greatest parents ever” to Ava!
Ava didn’t want to veer too far away from the Thomas train outside. I think she was concerned she wouldn’t get a chance to ride him!
This was Ava pretty much during the entire train ride – when she wasn’t smiling and laughing and giving me kisses because she was so happy.
Then the icing on the cake!
We stopped by the Thomas Imagination Station of interactive play before heading out. It was a pretty cool exhibit.
Soon all of our stomachs were telling us we were in need of food. So we joined William and his parents at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que for dinner, which totally hit the spot.
The kiddos agreed.
Unfortunately this past weekend was the last weekend the Thomas Friendship Tour was in town. The Friendship Tour is a traveling exhibit. Go here to look at where it goes next!
Have a great day!
