Hello and happy Thursday!
On Sunday Ava had her 2nd birthday party at our house. This year’s theme was “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” in honor of her favorite TV show.
We were blessed with perfect weather (sunny, but not too hot for the party) that enabled us to have the majority of the party activities outside – a baby pool and slide, a water table, and a bubble machine!
Party prep (decorating and cooking) was fairly simple and easy, I must say.
I found adorable food place cards to use for the birthday spread here.
The full menu included:
- Pigs in a Blanket or “Hot Diggity Dogs”
- Mini PB & J sandwiches
- Chicken nuggets
- Mickey’s Trail Mix
- Sour Cream and Onion chips
- Cheese and crackers
- Veggie tray
- M & Ms
- Birthday cake
Water, lemonade, wine, and beer
I love this sign I purchased off Etsy.
And last but certainly not least, we had a very special guest attend the party – Ms. Mouse (aka Minnie)!
We used Metro Mascots to hire an entertainer to do balloon animals for the kids, get people dancing, and ultimately change into Ms. Mouse during the party. We were very pleased with our performer, John, and would certainly use this company again for parties in the future. John was very polite and accommodating. I found Metro Mascots pricing to be very reasonable.
It took awhile for the kids to warm up to Ms. Mouse, but eventually they came around. Ava even gave her a hug before she left!
It was a great day celebrating our Little Princess. Big thanks to our friends and family who came out for it. For those who couldn’t, we missed you!
