Happy Monday everyone! Hope your weekend was a good one. 🙂
One of my weekend highlights was enjoying a leisurely and delicious brunch at Farmers Fishers Bakers on Saturday with Tammy, Christina and MIKI! Miki was in town solo (minus hubby and son Zach) visiting colleagues and friends. This was her first trip back to DC since they moved to Colorado last year. Naturally we scheduled our February “14th Street Dinner” when she was in town. Because she was the guest of honor we let her choose the restaurant this month – even if it wasn’t a place on 14th Street.
I must say, so far, Farmers Fishers Bakers is the best brunch in DC where you truly get the most bang for your buck. For $29.99 (not including alcohol) you get to enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet (there are several different food stations) + they pass around an assortment of “starters”. Water, coffee, and iced tea are complimentary. On Saturday we chose to start with sushi, Eggs Benedict, fried shrimp (below), biscuits, and cinnamon buns (also pictured below). Call me crazy, but some people would consider that a meal. Pacing yourself is the name of the game when brunching here!
I made a concentrated effort to try to stay quasi-healthy and not overeat if you will. My first plate serving looked like this:
It was a great Saturday mid-morning treat all around.
