Hello!
Hope everyone’s Friday is going well and that you are anticipating a fun-filled weekend. 🙂 Thought I’d share how my Friday is going thus far.
The day began with Ava’s 15-month pediatrician appointment – which is so hard to believe. I have said this countless times before and I will keep saying it, time is flying by with this kiddo. Pretty soon we’ll be celebrating her 2nd birthday…but lets not get ahead of ourselves. Ava generally doesn’t like going to the pediatrician (who can blame her). While she is fine in the waiting room, the second she sees her doctor she starts crying. Well today she was great. She let me chat with her doctor for about 15 minutes sans crying….until it was examine time, followed by a shot. Le sigh. She took the shot like a champ though!
Afterward my mom treated us both to brunch at Le Pain Quotidien in Eastern Market, which has developed into a tradition for the three of us. Mom will either come to Ava’s entire pediatrician’s appointment or at the tail end and then we’ll stop by Le Pain. Pretty good tradition if you ask me. 🙂

Instead of ordering my usual Avocado Toast I decided to get the Toasted Paris Ham & Gruyere Croissant with a seasonal salad. Yum! Ava enjoyed it too.
After brunch, we dropped my mom off at home before heading back to our house. Ava’s nanny, Wendy, was waiting for her when we got home so I was able to take care of some admin things before heading out to meet a former colleague of mine, Meredith, for lunch at Copperwood Tavern in Shirlington.

For this meal I settled on Grilled Oyster swith parmesan, parsley, butter and garlic crumb. And at the last minute I ordered fries for Meredith and I to share…
I have definitely been eating well today and the day isn’t over yet. Â I’m sure I’m not alone in this as I plan to round out my Friday by watching the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics tonight over a couple glasses of wine and creamy avocado pasta.
Have a great weekend!
