A Happy Hour and a Sailing Adventure
Happy Monday everyone!
As with all weekends this one past by very quickly, but as it was a weekend filled with fun activities and some relaxation that’s a win. It also means that our Dominican Republic trip is right around the corner – we leave Wednesday morning!
A couple highlights of the weekend included a happy hour we hosted at our house on Friday evening and a sailing adventure my friend Hannah and I went on Saturday afternoon. [Read more…]
What A Week!
Mommy and Ava Week is slowing drawing to a close! As I type I’m praying Ava goes down for her afternoon nap. Her molars are coming in this week….so that’s been fun…;-)
As I mentioned earlier on the blog our nanny is on vacation this week so I had Ava for the week. I must say we did a lot of fun things! [Read more…]
Fun at Charles Houston Recreation Center!
Yesterday I took Ava to the Charles Houston Recreation Center right by our house. I’m so glad I read about it on another blog I follow, Del Ray Baby, as it was the perfect place to take Ava for a day field trip! [Read more…]

Happy Tuesday folks!
Day 1 of “Nanny on Vacation” is officially in the books! Little Miss and I had a great day. We did some pool time and lunch at my mom’s in the late-morning to early afternoon. And later, Tommy came home early from work to relieve me of children (can’t forget our Fur Baby) duty so I could take care of some admin things.
Here is your weekly Tidbits: [Read more…]
What I’ve Been Reading on the Web this Week
Happy Friday! Hard to believe another week has gone by and LABOR DAY is right around the corner – YIKES.
This morning I wanted to pop in to share a few interesting reads I’ve been digesting over the week. [Read more…]
Sotto
On Tuesday night my 14th Street gals (minus Miki 🙁 ) and I dined at Sotto for the very first time.
The entrance to the restaurant reminded me of a club entrance, which makes a lot of sense since it is self- described as a speakeasy that has live jazz, blues and neo-soul music. Sotto sits atop Ghibellina (very apropos as “sotto” means “below” in Italian) and is neatly tucked in between Rice and Pearl Dive Oyster Place. I walked down a flight of stairs and once inside quickly forgot that it was sunny outside as the entire restaurant was very dark. [Read more…]

Happy Tuesday!
Yesterday afternoon I popped into Anthropologie to window shop. I’m not a stranger to this store, but my purchases are usually (super cute) gifts for other people. I have maybe bought 1-3 things for myself from here and I’m not exactly sure why. After some thought it might because I never really gravitated towards the style of clothing Anthropologie offered and (just being honest here), I generally always raised my eyebrows at the cost of items, particularly the clothes.
However the store area I found myself gravitating to yesterday was the House & Home section and I found several things that I wouldn’t mind having in my house. [Read more…]
Fun at BoonDoggie Farm
Happy Monday! Hope you had a relaxing weekend and for those in the DMV area, hope you all stayed cool. This heat is intense!
On Saturday Tommy, Ava, my mom, and I met up with our friends Arlene, Seyla, and their adorable Rottie pup, Bruno, at a really cool spot in Southern Maryland, BoonDoggie Farm. [Read more…]
My Morning in Adams Morgan
It’s Friday!
So it’s kind of funny I hadn’t been to Adams Morgan in forever and now I’ve been there twice this week. Once for a ladies night and this morning for a meeting.
Here are some snapshots I took of the AdMo neighborhood at 8am vs. the typical scene the area is on late weekend nights. (Very different!) [Read more…]
