Good muggy, humid Tuesday morning from the DMV area! Despite the weather I am pleased to report that I banged out a 4-mile run a few minutes ago. Not going to lie, I was thisclose to pushing it off until this evening – and then probably pushing it to tomorrow. So glad I didn’t.

Hope your weekend was lovely. Ours was a busy weekend that included an Ava and Mommy run Saturday morning, a family picnic hosted by Tommy’s company for all of their employees and families, and lots of water fun for Ava on Sunday with two of her friends.
Have you ever heard of thredUP? It describes itself as the largest online and consignment thrift store for women and children. While I have sent in gently used clothes of mine to sell to thredUP a couple of times, I hadn’t purchased anything from thredUP until recently when I realized Ava was in need of some cute summer clothes! On Wednesday night Tammy, Miki, Christina, and I dined at Barcelona in honor of Miki’s last 14th Street dinner with us. She and her sweet family are moving to the Denver area later this month. 🙁 Not to worry, whenever she is in town we’ll schedule that particular month’s dinner around her visit. You may remember we’ve eaten here before, but we let Miki choose any restaurant she wanted to go to for her last hoorah and she chose to go back here. [Read more…]

First and foremost my thoughts and prayers go out to all of the people affected by the terror shooting in Orlando. The fact that the shooting happened on my birthday has been surreal and strange. Sending lots of love and light to everyone.

On Saturday afternoon I completed my months-long responsibilities of being the hostess- with- the- mostess! My mom and I threw my longtime friend, Arlene, a bridal shower at my house. She and her fiance, Seyla, will be getting married over Labor Day weekend in the Dominican Republic! Yours truly is the Matron of Honor and Ava is the Flower Girl. 🙂
While mom did most of the cooking, I was in charge of the invitations, the decorations, the games, the dessert, and drinks. [Read more…]
