Happy Monday evening folks! Hope everyone had a great weekend. 🙂
Tommy and I certainly did – we escaped to the Maryland eastern shore for the weekend for our Babymoon! We stayed at the Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michael’s. It.was.heavenly. If I had to sum up our vacation in a few words they would be: food, relaxing, beautiful, pampered and indulgent.
The Inn is only about 1.5 hours away from our house (in no traffic). St Michael’s is a super cute town in Talbot County along the Chesapeake Bay. There were so many cute little shops, bistros, dessert shops, pubs, and restaurants in town. Unfortunately we didn’t get much time to enjoy the town itself, but I would definitely come back here one summer day to peruse the town. And Tommy and I would DEFINITELY come back to the Inn at Perry Cabin anytime, (though I do recommend saving some money since it’s very easy to spend money here!)
We headed for St. Michael’s around 6pm on Friday night. We arrived at the Inn around 8pm or so. We were given a warm welcome and tour of the property before being taken to our master suite with an ocean view. (We were given a complimentary upgrade)!
After lounging for an hour or so in our luxurious suite, we decided to check out the Purser’s Pub since yours truly was getting hungry – again.
We loved the atmosphere of the pub. We were able to grab a nice secluded table for two with two big leather lounge chairs to camp out on. We were also steps away from a big crackling fire. Perfection! We stayed at the pub for about an hour or so before calling it a night.
The next morning we slept in and then headed to Stars (the nice dining option at the Inn) restaurant for our breakfast that was included in our weekend package. We immediately began our meal with fresh cups of coffee – of course!
We took our time eating breakfast and found ourselves hustling over to the Linden Spa for our massages – an 80 minute Sports Massage for Tommy and an 80 minute Pre-Natal massage for me. We spent over 3 hours at the spa – oops! In addition to our wonderful massages we took advantage of the Relaxation Lounge where we sat and quietly chatted with each other while enjoying beverages and bites and Tommy spent some time in the steam room. Unfortunately since I am preggo I couldn’t partake in any steam room action.
After our pamper session at the spa, we headed back to our room for a bit before we partook in our first resort-organized activity – Bags & Brews! (Translation: Corn hole with beverages). Even though (we were told) a lot of people signed up for this event, we were the only two that showed up, but we didn’t let that dampen our fun!
I am sad to report that Tommy won all of our games…wah wah. After Bags & Brews we took a stroll around the beautiful property. It was sunny, but very chilly and windy.
We went back to our room to hang out for a bit and then we freshened up – we had a romantic dinner to get to in Easton, Maryland at the Bartlett Pear Inn that a co-worker had recommended to me! Easton is another cute town on the Maryland Eastern Shore (about 20 minutes from St. Michael’s) and another place I wouldn’t mind coming back to in the summer to walk around.
Tommy and I really enjoyed the Bartlett Pear Inn. The restaurant and Inn where people can stay overnight is situated in an old 18th century house and was incredibly cozy. I personally felt like the restaurant would have fit in perfectly in Charleston, SC. The food is delicious, but pricey. Luckily I had an Open Table gift certificate to use towards our bill. 🙂
We left the restaurant stuffed and happy!
On Sunday morning we woke up bright and early to go to a yoga class organized by the Inn. The yoga studio was in town and the Inn provided “shuttle” service to/from class. When I say shuttle service I mean someone drove us in an X5. SCORE! The class was wonderful and exactly what we needed after getting our massages the day before.
After class we headed back to the Inn and promptly went back to Stars for breakfast (again, this was included in our weekend package).
Once we were finished with breakfast, it was, unfortunately, time for us to head back to our room to pack-up and head back home. Before we left I had to snap a picture of the super cute Valentines locals hung around downtown St. Michaels. These hearts were everywhere!
For those of you that are interested the package Tommy and I took advantage of on this trip was the Winter Indulgence Package, which included:
- Daily à la carte breakfast for two at Stars (US$45 per room, per day)
- US$50 resort credit per room per night (we used this credits towards our “spa day”.
- and much more…
- Accommodation upgrade, based on availability
- Access to resort amenities including fitness center and bicycles
