Today officially marks my first day of training for the Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon in July. Woot, woot! Today was a stretch & strengthen day so I did something I hadn’t done in awhile. I completed a full body lifting workout, which felt great. The workout included flat dumbbell presses, squats, dead lifts, dips, and lunges. My arms are already feeling the burn!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend. Tomorrow’s Tuesday Tidbits will include some of my Easter festivities. I am also happy to report that I successfully completed Lent this year – no JCREW purchases were made!
Now, lets rewind to Friday. As you may remember Tommy and I were planning on hitting a yoga class and Lowes after work, which we did. We then stopped by RIPS to eat dinner. RIPS is a casual dining, country inn kind of place. It is a family owned (for 60 years) restaurant, liquor and wine store, and deli. It has caught my eye several times as I’ve run various errands in Bowie, because honestly, it wasn’t a chain restaurant.
Not completely knowing what to expect eating here, we soon found we were in for a treat.
It was definitely a chill locale, but not in a bad way or anything. While other people were more dressed up than Tommy and me (mind you, we had just come from yoga), we didn’t feel out of place at all. RIPS had an extensive wine, cocktail, and food menu. The portions were huge!
To start we ordered hummus and bread.
On top of the complimentary bread that was given to us upon ordering.
And my glass of Riesling.
For dinner, I decided to stay somewhat healthy and ordered a Caesar salad and French Onion Soup. So delicious. Tommy decided to try the meatloaf (not pictured).
We left RIPS more than satisfied. We both agreed we’d be interested in trying their Sunday buffet breakfast sometime – we would just need to make sure we came extremely hungry!
