On Sunday everyone woke up around 8am again and convened at our kitchen table to read the newspaper, continue chatting, drinking coffee and munching a little bit on the apricot biscotti my mom made the night earlier – but not too much since we had big brunch plans at 11am!
Before we sent the Comeau clan back to Portland, Tommy and I wanted to treat them to a brunch in good ‘ole’ Chesapeake Beach. A lot of our neighbors (and reviews online) had said that the Rod ‘N’ Reel does the best brunch in our neighborhood. While we had been to Rod ‘N’ Reel for lunch before, we hadn’t yet tried their Sunday brunch so we figured what better time to try it than with the fam?! Not only is the food really good at this restaurant, but the view is pretty sweet. The restaurant and resort the restaurant is apart of sits right on the ocean. So you have a pretty awesome view of the water and the boardwalk.
We were not disappointed.
For $15 per person you get an all-you-can-eat buffet. We’re talking waffles, pancakes, and doughnuts made to order with all of the toppings, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, cornhash, so much fruit, pastries, a meat and Mexican station, the list goes on and on. How can it get any better? $3.75 regularly-sized mimosas and Bloody Marys. AMAZING! Not to mention we were seated right by the window so we could see the ocean and feel the warm sunlight beating down on us. It felt so nice!
I unfortunately didn’t get any pictures of all the food we ate, but I know we will be going back there so I will make sure to squeeze in some pictures then.
Once brunch was over Tommy took his family to the airport, while I booked it to D.C. to run some errands and get a massage.
Cheers to a wonderful weekend! We can’t wait for the next Comeau visit. 🙂
