Tommy and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary on Monday night, October 21st. Phew we made it! 😉
Tommy sent me a beautiful bouquet of red roses at work that day and then we dined at Blue Duck Tavern later that evening. It was a delightful night! I had been there before for brunch with a girlfriend years ago, but he had never been there. I thought it would be the perfect restaurant to go to, quite, romantic, and involving delicious food. I wasn’t led astray.
Because no celebratory anything can begin without a cocktail!
For our appetizer we began with sharing the Baby Kale Salad. OH MY GOODNESS. Honestly the best salad we ever had, hands down.
For our entrees we both settled on meat dishes. Tommy got the Braised Beef Rib and I chose the Half-Roasted Organic Chicken. Both were wonderful, rich in flavor and succulent.
For our side we decided to order the Creamy Stone-Ground Grits. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO yummy and rich.
If all this decadent comfort food wasn’t enough, we also decided to split a dessert.
We most definitely left the restaurant fat and happy.
For our gifts to each other we decided to stick with giving traditional gifts. The second -year anniversary gift is cotton so we are shopping around for some nice, well-made, comfortable sheets for our bed. Right now we are leaning towards a very high thread-count set or silk sheets. Â Any recommendations? If so, please suggest away!
Happy anniversary Tommy. I love you! Here’s to many more years of merriment and excitement. 🙂
