We made it safely back home! Weather-wise the drive was just fine. However Tommy came down with something the day after Christmas so unfortunately he was miserable on the ride home, but still did two driving shifts – AMAZING! We rolled into our garage around 3am on Saturday. [Read more…]

Tire-ed Up and Ready to Go
As I type Jeff is at the tire shop getting his right rear tire replaced. If all goes well, he should be as good as new by 1:30pm. Tommy and I are chilling at Calabash waiting to get the call that all is well with Jeff. We have become fast buddies with the owner.
I was able to get my 3-mile run and strength training in (push-ups) at a gym right by the tire place, so that is done and done. Thanks for the advice Tiffany. ๐ Kind of funny how everything seems to be working out today after the craziness of yesterday. [Read more…]
Crazy Snow Day
What a morning Tommy and I had!
It was supposed to be a simple, routine drive to the gym so I could bang out 3 miles on the treadmill and do some strength-training per my training plan, but it turned out to be anything but.
For starters a huge snow storm hit the Northeast last night and is expected to last all day today and until Friday at 4am. Tommy and I were aware of this when we decided to still go to the gym. (It was snowing pretty heavy when we left). We thought if we just drove slowly and carefully we would be fine. [Read more…]

Tuesday Tidbits – 9
1. To those who celebrate it, Merry Christmas! I hope you all have a wonderful day celebrating with friends, family, and loved ones. This morning Tommy and I will spend time opening presents with his eldest brother Joe, his wife Dawn and their family and then we’ll head over to his older sister’s house where we’ll celebrate with his entire family (brothers & sisters, their families and significant others and his parents). We’ll also do our big Secret Santa swap then. I hope the person I was assigned to likes his/her gifts. ๐ [Read more…]
Molly’s Cupcakes ‘N’ More
We made it to Maine!!! We pulled into our house at about 8am on Saturday after driving through the night. You’ll be happy to know that both Tommy and I successfully accomplished the goal of eating only healthy snacks on the road. I will say, having a bag full of healthy snacks readily available made the task so much easier. So thank you for all your input. ๐ [Read more…]
Essentials for a 12- Hour Road Trip to Maine – with a dog
As you can imagine a 12- hour winter road trip (the weather forecast calls for snowy, rainy, and windy conditions for our drive – yes!) with a dog, for a week-long stay in Maine, might entail some serious packing. Here are some essentials we WILL NOT and CANNOT leave our condo without. [Read more…]
Bourbon Slush & Chocolate Chip Cookies
I had the most amazing alcoholic beverage I probably have ever had in my life at my friend Margaret’s holiday party last weekend. What is this fabulous drink you ask? Why it’s “Bourbon Slush”! I personally loved this drink because it embodied everything I like about my alcoholic beverages – has alcohol in it, but you really can’t taste the alcohol because it’s mixed really well with other delicious flavors and the drink itself isn’t too heavy, but light and airy. In other words COMPLETELY DANGEROUS. [Read more…]
Healthy Food on the Road
I am starting to mentally pack for our road trip to Maine. The actual packing will begin tomorrow night. We’ll be spending Christmas with Tommy’s family in the Portland area for about a week. We are all excited, especially Tommy. ๐ [Read more…]
Tuesday Tidbits – 8
1. Half marathon training officially began on Monday – yay!!! Per my training plan on Monday I did some stretching and for strength-training I did full body lifting. This consisted of flat dumbell presses, squats, lunges, dips, and dead lifts. This morning I did a 3-mile run. I know it’s super early in the game, but I’m feeling good and am really excited training has begun. [Read more…]
