After several months of mulling over whether or not I was going to start a blog, I decided to bite the bullet. My main reason for wanting to start a blog was to be able to write again, to have a creative outlet. English and Creative Writing have always been my favorite subjects in school from elementary to college. (Even though I tested out of Freshman English at Southern Methodist University (SMU), I was so sad not to be taking an English class, I enrolled in one for fun…)
I also love people and interacting with people, so if there is another way I can create, develop and nurture relationships I am in! As of recent, I have discovered how special an online community is because it allows people to be connected together near and far and for them to share pieces of their lives with others.
I’ll admit it, I find it daunting to start blogging. I know a few people who blog and I read a lot of other amazing and interesting blogs, but it’s scary putting your own thoughts and feelings out there. I had to wonder, what will make me different from other blogs and why would people want to read my blog with all the other blogs out there? Well, the jury is still out on these questions, but my hope is every person will find something on here to relate to, whether it’s travel experiences and perspectives, similar health and fitness goals and challenges, or laughing when reading about the crazy lives my friends and I lead.
Which leads me to this: one thing I am excited to do on Bee in DC is having guest bloggers frequently write posts on here. You will find that they each are incredibly interesting individuals with different stories and interests to share. They are all truly inspiring and I am so fortunate to know them.
The (new) blogger in me has to ask, what are some things you like seeing/reading about on blogs. What are something things you don’t?
